Community Interpreter Services is a social enterprise of Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Boston, one of the largest providers of social services in Massachusetts. Founded in 1903, Catholic Charities of Boston’s mission is to build a just and compassionate society rooted in the dignity of all people. Catholic Charities responds to the needs of the poor and working poor, provides supportive services to children and families, and assists refugees and immigrants as they become active participants in their communities.
As a nonprofit, CIS is one of the only interpreter service providers in the state whose profits are invested directly in the communities we work in. Just one hour of interpreting can fund a hot nutritious meal for six children in one of our childcare centers. When you book through CIS seven times, it assists in stocking a full classroom with school supplies to start off the year. Eleven hours of interpreter services helps fund a Licensed Clinician for family support groups to help guide families struggling with addiction.
For over 35 years, CIS revenue has helped to put food on the shelves at our food banks, provide youth mentors, kept the summer camp stocked and running, and benefited many of the other programs that Catholic Charities offers for those trying to escape poverty and lead meaningful, productive lives.
When you choose Community Interpreter Services, you are supporting the many Catholic Charities programs that serve thousands of individuals and families in need each year.
